Royal Liberty School

Our challenge

The school had a challenge to serve all the students in the 35 minute lunch break. Two service points where on offer via either the main dining area or from a small trolley at the back entrance to the kitchen, leading to the playground.

What we did

Working in partnership with the school, HCS opened up a third service point in the main school hall, offering a mirrored main meal, baguettes, beverages, hot snacks and pasta.

The new area is serviced by a mobile hot trolley, chilled merchandiser and till, which are returned to the dining area after service to enable the hall to continue to be used for school activities.

Table and chairs are made available to give the students the chance to socialise with their peers.

A slushy style drink has been introduced at both main dining and back door to give the students the ability to purchase more variety whilst aiding their 5 a day.

The outcome

Pupils have welcomed the new option with daily transactions rising in average by 152 per day in the first week alone.

Students have taken more interest in the options available to them, and to address this HCS are continuing to add variety with a new substop deli bar service, offer a made to order baguette with a much wider choice of fillings
